We are proud to announce a new step forward in our journey of innovation in the service of the national system: through our Underwater Technology Hub, we will supply the Italian Navy with a supply vessel, designed to deliver maximum operational versatility, including underwater operations. This project is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Italy’s presence in the increasingly strategic maritime domain through modular and scalable solutions. The unit, which will undergo refitting at our Palermo shipyard, will be transformed into a technologically advanced platform fully integrated within the national capability system. Its configuration and available spaces allow it to be adapted for multiple operational roles, ensuring flexibility and rapid reconfiguration based on mission needs. Once again, we reaffirm our role of orchestrator of highly complex technologies, capable of operating from the surface to the seabed, from hardware to software, confirming our commitment to consolidating our leadership in naval innovation and contributing to the development of technological sovereignty that is increasingly strategic for our Country. @ItalianNavy

AKINKANJU! Professor Sophie Oluwole (1935-2018): Nigeria's First Female Philosophy PhD Who Through Yoruba Ifa Reclaimed African Philosophy Professor Sophie Bosede Oluwole spent her career proving something many once doubted — that philosophy did not arrive in Africa from elsewhere, but had lived for centuries in Yoruba thought. From a childhood shaped by proverbs and oral wisdom to becoming Nigeria’s first female PhD in philosophy, she kept returning to the same question: what happened to the original thinkers? Her work on Ifa, her comparison of Orunmila and Socrates, and her defense of indigenous languages reshaped how African philosophy is studied today. Her reminder still feels timely: “Study it before you judge it.” Read the full story of Professor Sophie Oluwole and her lifelong effort to reclaim Africa’s intellectual heritage: dawncommission.org/professor-soph…

Parents and children carry so much, and in our busy lives we rarely pause to truly see it. Yet the family remains the foundation of every strong society. That’s why Dear Therapy was so meaningful this year. It was good to see how warmly parents, families, and support systems embraced the experience, and I’m truly proud of the work my team put into making it possible. To everyone who showed up, our KSH Foundation support system, our participants, and every supporter, thank you for choosing a space dedicated to care. We go again next year.

PRESS RELEASE 01/12/2025 Gov. Yusuf assures residents of strong security measures in Kano …Warns Against Fake News and Attempts to Cause Panic… The Kano State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, has issued a firm reassurance that the security and stability of the state remain fully intact and under control. In a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa said the assurance was made following the State Security Council meeting held on Sunday the 30th with security chiefs in attendance, where the government reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace and public safety across the state. In response to the recent circulation of false and sensational security claims, the government states clearly that there is no credible intelligence suggesting any imminent or significant threat to public peace. The administration strongly condemns the deliberate spread of misinformation aimed at causing fear, confusion, and distrust among residents. The state government, in close coordination with Security Intelligence Services, law enforcement agencies, and community structures, is operating with heightened vigilance. Security formations have been briefed, strategically deployed, and are working round the clock to neutralize any potential breach of peace. Every part of Kano is under active surveillance and supported by a robust security architecture. Government calls on residents to remain calm, patriotic, and responsible in their use of social media and other communication channels. Individuals circulating fake news are advised to desist immediately, as such actions threaten public order and will attract legal consequences. His Excellency assures the public that the administration is deeply invested in strengthening intelligence operations, enhancing inter-agency cooperation, and deploying advanced security mechanisms. The government remains unwavering in its commitment: Kano will not succumb to fear, misinformation, or attempts to destabilize its peace. Kano is safe, secure, and fully prepared to confront and defeat any threat. The residents therefore advised to remain calm and continue their normal businesses. I had an amazing time on Saturday in London at the Miss Pride of Africa event @missprideAfrica It was truly inspiring to see Africans in the UK come together to celebrate and empower women in our community. I enjoyed every moment from the vibrant atmosphere to the wonderful people I connected with. I had such a good laugh with the Mayor of Barking and Dagenham, Princess Bright, @pri_bright and it was great seeing the man himself, King Smade. A big thank you to the event organisers for putting together such a phenomenal experience. I was rooting for Miss Nigeria, but Miss Zimbabwe took the crown and honestly, Zimbabwe is my other country, so we still won! 🤣🤣🤣
