‘I Don’t Operate Any Bank Account’ – Prophet TB Joshua

Leader and founder of The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet T. B. Joshua has declared that he does not operate any bank account.

Concise News reports that TB Joshua in an interview with The Maravi Post recently, says because he is more concerned about touching lives, he doesn’t keep money.

“This is the problem the country has brought to us; that is what we are talking about.

“Here we have a foundation for the youths, a football club. There are about 4000 of them that come from across the country, and we have a bus for them.

“We are also involved with the destitute in Oko-Baba, you saw the buses given to them and how they are being taken care of and we are giving them scholarships,” the influential televangelist explains.

He continues: “We have people in Leeds University in London, which is one of the best universities in the world. There are also the widows, the physically challenged – and we have a warehouse where we keep the rice which we give to these people.

“Each trailer is N5million and we have about four trailers. There are also the aged people – we look for them and take care of them, even the ones that are sick. Of course, you know that to run a football club costs a lot of money.

“Even the PHCN where they train, we paid heavily to secure it. These are some of the challenges we are facing. So when you now talk about the issue of tax, does it means that we will withdraw all these and use it to pay tax?

“We are doing more than paying tax. I don’t operate any bank account, not to talk of keeping money here.

“These people are my bank account. I believe so much in this so that in the nearest future, people can stand and say, ‘I am now this through the grace of God in the life of TB Joshua’”

Governor Nyesom Wike Promises N30m Reward For Information That’ll Lead To Arrest Of Bobrisky

Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State has promised to give N30 million to anyone who gives useful information that will lead to the arrest of those who killed a Director with the Rivers State Government during the Choba crisis as well as the capture of notorious criminal called Bobrisky in Gokana Local Government Area.  

Wike made the pledge on Thursday, August 8th when he handed over 40 Patrol Vans fitted with Communication Gadgets to Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS), See 4 Eye, Police Anti-Kidnapping, Police Anti-Cultism, Federal Road Safety Corps and Eagle Crime at the Government House Port Harcourt.  

He also declared that the state government was fully prepared to tackle insecurity and would do everything required to protect lives and property, declaring that the state government had proscribed all youth groups operating in the state because they had been hijacked by cultists.

“Rivers State Government is fully prepared and will do everything required to protect lives and property. Without the protection of lives and property, there will be no governance and development.  

“We are one State that has suffered neglect from the Federal Government in terms of support to fight insecurity. They have refused to pay back funds that we used in constructing Federal projects. But that will not stop us from intervening when the need arises”, he said.

The Governor said that he resolved to increase the support to the security agencies because of the successes recorded by Operation Sting. He regretted that cultists had taken over youth groups across the State, necessitating the state government proscribing all youth Ggroups.

“Anybody operating under a youth body henceforth will be arrested by security agencies. Before you contest for any youth body’s leadership, you must send the names to the DSS and Police for screening. If they are cultists, we will not allow them to operate,” he said.

Wike said that the vehicles and gunboats donated to the security agencies must be deployed to secure Rivers State. He announced that the Rivers State Government would establish a Trust Fund to cater for the families of policemen who lose their lives while fighting crime.

Mother and her four children die of suspected food poisoning

Four children and their mother were on Thursday evening found dead inside a rented house at Nantwala Village, Kiringente Sub County, Mpigi District in Uganda.

 

Police preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased could have died of food poisoning.

 

The deceased persons are yet to be identified since they were not known to residents as they had just settled in the area.

 

Mr Francis Musisi, their landlord said he learnt of the incident when he went to deliver a receipt to his new tenants who occupied the single room only two days ago.

“Eric Hagirimaana, the father of the children came to me on Tuesday and rented a room for his family. They [family members] had spent just two days in the house and we don’t know even the names of the wife,” he said on Thursday.

 

Mr Musisi said on Wednesday the deceased persons were alive and children were seen playing in the compound.

“When neighbours saw their door open for the whole day and there was nobody coming out, they opened the door curtains and found the five bodies lying inside the room,” he said.

 

Mr Hagirimaana was not present by the time police detectives arrived at the scene.
Mr Andrew Ainembabazi, the officer in charge of criminal investigations at Mpigi Police Station led a team of police officers to manage the scene of crime.

“We have not arrested any suspects, but investigations into the matter have already started. Some exhibits have been picked from the scene to help in further investigations,” Mr Ainembabazi said.

 

The bodies were taken to Mulago National Referral Hospital for mortuary autopsy.
