He has already paid $5.6 million with interest. A second verdict of $83.3 million is still pending. On Monday the US Supreme Court refused for a second time to take up Donald Trump's challenge to the E. Jean Carroll verdict. The order was one sentence long, with no explanation and no noted dissents. It ends a case that began in 2019, when Carroll went public with the claim that Trump had assaulted her in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room in the mid-1990s and he called it a hoax. A civil jury decided in May 2023 that Trump was liable for sexually abusing and defaming her and awarded $5 million. The same jury did not find that he had raped her; under New York law those are separate findings, and the judge later wrote that what the jury did find would be called rape in ordinary speech but not under the statute. This was a civil case, so there is no conviction and no criminal record. Trump has already paid $5.6 million with interest. A second verdict, $83.3 million for defamation in the case Carroll filed in 2019, is still pending at the Supreme Court and will not be decided until later this year. Soulja Boy put a real phone number in one of his biggest hits, and millions of fans actually called it. In 2008, his track “Kiss Me Thru the Phone” featured a working number directly in the chorus. It wasn’t a fake line for the song—fans who dialed it reached a promotional line connected straight to Soulja Boy. As the song climbed to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, the line exploded. Soulja Boy later claimed the phone number became so popular it was pulling in around $100,000 a month at its peak. Instead of just writing a catchy hook, he turned his lyrics into an interactive business model. For an artist who built his early career on the internet, it was another example of Soulja Boy mastering viral marketing long before everyone else.

Before Davido became one of Africa’s biggest music stars and before Ademola Adeleke became Osun State governor, there was an Adeleke family story that began generations earlier. What makes the Adeleke story fascinating is that their influence didn’t come from just one person. It has been built across generations and across completely different industries. #pulsenigeria247 #PulseOriginal #pulseexplained

Rene Nichole Coleman, 50, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, was reportedly paid far more than she should have received because of a payroll system error. On May 10, 2025, Coleman worked a 12-hour shift at a Jonesboro-area business. Her normal pay was $16.50 an hour, but a payroll mistake entered her hourly rate as $1,650 instead. The error resulted in Coleman receiving an extra $19,388 in pay. The amount was originally reported differently in some accounts, but the correct overpayment was $19,388. After the company discovered the mistake, Coleman was asked to return the money. According to police records, she refused to give it back. The CEO of the business later reported the matter to police. The company provided financial records and emails as evidence showing the payroll error and its attempts to recover the money. Coleman was eventually charged with felony theft involving property valued between $5,000 and $25,000. She was arrested in April 2026 on an outstanding warrant. Her bond was set at $15,000. The case centers on what happened after the payroll mistake was discovered. The company says Coleman received the money because of an obvious payment error and then refused to return it. Coleman’s case shows how a simple payroll mistake can quickly become a serious legal matter when a large amount of money is accidentally deposited into someone’s account. The allegations are part of the criminal case, and the charge does not by itself establish guilt.

Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has ruthlessly mocked Arsenal fans who got carried away by the prospect of signing Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior, after the Brazilian committed his future to the Spanish giants with a bumper new deal 💰🤑 The Gunners opportunistically targeted the 26-year-old forward while he was locked in lengthy contract talks with Real Madrid, and were prepared to make him the highest-paid player in Premier League history if he agreed to the move. Arsenal fans were bouncing off the walls at the prospect of luring Vinicius Junior away from Madrid, in a move that would have been viewed as one of the most seismic transfers in modern English football history. Even Mikel Arteta admitted he was 'absolutely smitten' with the idea of signing him after the prospective move was approved 'at all levels' at the Emirates. Ultimately, to Arsenal's disappointment, the Brazilian international penned a new six-year deal at the Bernabeu to commit his future to Real Madrid, calling an end to the 18-month contract saga. His lucrative new deal reportedly makes Vinicius Junior the second-highest earner at the club, ahead of Jude Bellingham and captain Federico Valverde while narrowly behind superstar forward Kylian Mbappe. Mikel joked that Arsenal's proposed signing of Vinicius was never on the cards, insisting they aren't 'one of the big boys' despite winning the Premier League last campaign. ‘I don’t know what the Arsenal fans were expecting,' he said on The Obi One Podcast. ‘You win the league after 22 years and then you all of a sudden think: that’s it, you’ve arrived, you’re one of the big boys again. No, you’re not. ‘They’ve just been humbled because I said it: there’s no way Vinicius Junior is leaving Real Madrid to go to Arsenal, a club that’s won one title in 22 years. ‘This guy wins titles, he’s won lots of titles at Real Madrid. He wants to win titles season after season, the Champions League, La Liga, competing year after year and winning those titles. ‘He’s tasted what it feels like winning the Champions League, Arsenal have never won the Champions League. Zero. ‘You expect a player who has won the Champions League with Real Madrid to leave that, everything that he’s built at Real Madrid, and the squad that Jose Mourinho is assembling right now? They look to me like a team that at the end of the season, you probably see them in the Champions League final. ‘There’s some team there at Real Madrid when you look at the players that they have. You expect him to leave that and go to a team that has won one league title in 22 years?’ Mikel went on claim that Vinicius simply 'used' the north London club to get a new bumper deal at the Bernabeu. He added: ‘All the Arsenal fans when I said that before, in my DMs, I saw messages, “We’ve clipped this, we’ve sent this video, and when it happens we’re absolutely going to come on here and destroy you…” ‘I was looking at it and thinking that’s just my opinion. I never thought he was going to leave. ‘He was using you guys [Arsenal] to get a better deal, he was using them to get a better deal. ‘I have no idea why Arsenal fans would genuinely believe that Vinicius Junior was going to go from Real Madrid to Arsenal. If you ask anybody… I think it was only Arsenal fans who believed that was going to happen. I don’t know what they were smoking.’
