Yuletide: Catholic Bishop Calls For Sober Reflection, Preaches Salvation

The Bishop of Bomadi Vicariate of the Catholic Church in Delta State, Bishop Hyacinth Egbebo, has called on Christians to reflect on the essence of the birth of Jesus Christ, whose birth in human form redeemed mankind from the bondage of sin and death.
Speaking to our correspondent, the cleric said Christmas was a feast to be celebrated by all mankind, the reason being that Jesus Christ was the creator of the world and must be adored and honoured by all.
The Catholic priest recalled that the Catholic church a fortnight ago, converged at the Bomadi Vicariate where members came from various parts of the country to carry out house-to-house evangelism convention with the theme: “Preaching, Salvation to Mankind,” stressing that it was a huge success, as questions were entertained from people and answers were also given to them about God’s kingdom through Christ.
He urged Christians to be sober on what Christ came for, which is to bring salvation and freedom to mankind, as he advised them to show similar love to fellow humans in this season of festivity by sharing with neighbours, friends and the needy.
Bishop Egbebo, advised Christians all over the world not to cause the death of others because of Christmas, neither should they tell lies nor steal to obtain their needs in the name of Christmas.
