Nollywood Mourns: Checkout The Top Nollywood Actors Who Died Within A Month (With Pics)


Nollywood seems to be at a low moment with the heavy blow fate has dealt it in recent times. The Nigerian movie industry has lost three top actors in a space of one month and this has drawn the attention of the public on the entertainers.

 Following the death of Moji Olaiya, an amicable Nollywood actress who died on Thursday, May 18, the other Nollywood stars have been left in another period of mourning.

 Although the occurrences are beyond human comprehension, the colleagues left behind had little or no time to get over the death of a member before getting wind of the death of another.

 Sadly, three highly entertaining actors have passed on within a space of one month. As startling as this news is, it is nothing but the truth.

 We would take you through the profiles of the deceased actors briefly. Check out the Nollywood artistes that have lost their lives in gloomy events:

 1. OLUMIDE BAKARE

 Olumide Bakare would remain a household name for a long time considering his role in Nigerian movies. The veteran actor in the Nigerian movie industry passed on as a result of some health issue.

 2. PASTOR AJIDARA

 While Nollywood stars and Nigerians were yet to get over the death of Olumide Bakare, Pastor Ajidara also passed on. Adeshina Adesanya was popularly known as Pastor Ajidara because of his role in the award-winning movie Abela Pupa.

 Like Olumide Bakare, Ajidara also had a health issue that took away a huge part of his resources. He struggled hard with a kidney related disease till he died. Pastor Ajidara had asked Nigerians for help when he saw that he could not manage the ailment alone again.

 However, his death came as a rude shock as he died barely twenty hours after soliciting for financial assistance.

 3. MOJI OLAIYA

 Moji Olaiya’s death tore the whole industry apart as most of the Nollywood actors were yet to come to terms with the death of Bakare and Ajidara.

 She was said to have passed on in Canada barely two months after giving birth to a baby girl. The pretty Nollywood actress was said to have passed on after having a cardiac arrest. Before her demise, she was a top actress who also made her mark as a producer. May their souls rest in perfect peace.

TRAGIC CASE: A couple, Paul Onyeama and Adline Ogbonna, have been arrested in the Igando area of Lagos State after their 10-year-old adopted daughter, Faith, reportedly died following alleged prolonged abuse. Residents said the child had been subjected to persistent maltreatment, including frequent beatings and being sent on strenuous errands despite her young age. The situation reportedly worsened after she fell ill for about two weeks, but the alleged abuse continued. According to witnesses, the incident escalated on Sunday when the couple allegedly beat the sick child severely, after which she died. She was later taken to a hospital where she was confirmed dead on arrival. Residents, who grew suspicious after noticing unusual activity, alerted others when the couple allegedly attempted to conceal the incident. The woman was first apprehended by youths in the area, while the husband was also later held when he returned. The matter was reported to the Igando Police Division, leading to their arrest and the recovery of the child’s body. A police source said the suspects claimed the child was ill and died while receiving treatment, but preliminary findings indicated she was already dead before arriving at the hospital. The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, for further investigation. Authorities have assured that a full investigation is ongoing as the community calls for justice.
