Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has recounted a tragic event that took place during Ibrahim Shekarau’s tenure as governor of Kano State.

In a live coverage by Symfoni TV from 14:12, Obasanjo said a Muslim cleric was shot and killed while leading early morning prayers in his mosque on a Friday. He said news of the incident shook him.

In Obasanjo’s words: “When I was president, there was that clergyman early in the morning who was leading prayers and he was shot and killed. When I received the news I was shaken.
