NAF TRAINS 20 GHANA ARMED FORCES OFFICERS, STRENGTHENS WEST AFRICAN MILITARY COOPERATION The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), through the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Administrative Management (NAFIAM), Kaduna, has inaugurated 30 students for specialised administrative and information management training, including a record 20 officers from the Ghana Armed Forces. The officers are undergoing the six-month Initial Personnel Administrative Management Officers Course (IPAMOC) alongside 10 NAF officers enrolled in the three-month Basic Information Young Officers Course (BIYOC). The initiative reinforces the NAF’s growing reputation as a regional centre of excellence for professional military education and underscores its commitment to strengthening defence collaboration across West Africa. The programme aligns with the command philosophy of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, which prioritises “standardise training and mission-focused capability development” as a critical enabler of operational effectiveness. While the IPAMOC equips the Ghanaian officers with advanced competencies in personnel administration, organisational leadership and human resource management, the BIYOC is designed to develop young NAF officers into strategic communicators capable of navigating information warfare, perception management and modern public relations engagements. Together, the courses represent a deliberate investment in human capacity as a force multiplier for regional security. In his inauguration address, the Commandant of NAFIAM, Air Commodore Isaiah Taiwo, urged participants to uphold discipline, professionalism and academic excellence, while acknowledging the confidence reposed in the NAF by the Ghana Armed Forces. He affirmed the Institute’s readiness to impart the knowledge and skills required for the officers to excel in their respective roles upon completion. The event also featured expert lectures by communication scholar Prof Samaila Mande on digital information warfare, personal branding and crisis communication, further enriching the training and preparing participants for contemporary operational realities. #NigerianAirForce #NAFIAM #WestAfricanSecurity #MilitaryCooperation #ProfessionalMilitaryEducation #RegionalPartnership
