After TheCable visit, FCTA clears dumpsite — but residents are not convinced it will last Twelve days after visiting the Karu dumpsite in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to document the worrying, ever-expanding garbage heap and the adverse effects it is having on the surrounding community, TheCable returned to see if changes had been made. The dumpsite, previously forming a tall heap that spilled into the road, had significantly reduced, and the stench that made breathing uncomfortable was no longer as heavy in the air. At a glance, the difference between the dump’s current state and what it was the week before is visible. In our previous report, shop owners in the vicinity shared their concerns about the stench, gridlock, and the slow clearance timeline of the dumpsite. More details in comment section.
