Along the way, I have had the opportunity to play up to semi-professional level. I have seen what the positive benefits of playing in a football team bring to the personal development of those playing no matter their skill level. Anyone who plays benefits from the stronger relationships that come with being in a team. And, as the players benefit, the community does as well. In 2009, it was clear that youth idleness, lack of social activities, and the necessity to make a living by all means were some of the major causes of crime in local communities, both in Nigeria and the United Kingdom. In response to the explosion of crime and kidnapping in Nigeria, I developed the initiative of Kick Against Crime. The Kick Against Crime initiative engaged the youth in a positive way using football to redirect their energy and re-evaluate their lives. Game On Afrika Ltd aims to replicate the same idea nationwide as a means to promote the experience of an exchange program between the Afrikan youth and their counterparts in the United Kingdom. Our mission is to build bridges across the globe, providing opportunities for the young people to develop their talents through sporting activities, as well as encourage social cohesion and inclusion. ABOUT OUR TEAM JEPHTA OPARA Director of Media Mr Opara leads all visual and digital storytelling efforts, capturing the journey of emerging football stars from grassroots to greatness. With a keen eye for compelling content and a passion for the sport, he will oversee video production, social media strategy, and brand partnerships. From behind the lens to digital campaigns, Mr Opara will ensure every moment is shared with impact, inspiring fans and scouts alike. His experience in sports media and creative leadership drives the project’s visibility, connecting talent to opportunities and bringing the excitement of football to audiences worldwide. AMAKA IHEJIRIKA National Coordinator of Logistics Amaka is a highly motivated and dynamic individual with prolific experience in journalism and public relations. She will be responsible for providing logistical support for Game On Afrika Ltd (GOAL) to operate effectively. JENNY OGBENYEALU ANUSIEM Director for Gender and Diversity A Board Member of Imo Football Association (Imo FA) under the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Jenny will bring her experience and expertise in grassroots football development and talent identification to grow and ensure gender diversity in all GOAL activities. AMBASSADOR FIDELIS GBASONGUN YUGHUR Head of Regional Planning. CC Ambassador Fidelis joins the team as the Head of Regional Planning. He has a background in reporting and journalism having worked in several Media Houses in Nigeria including: National Pulse Magazine, Star News Weekly and the Aljazirah Newspaper. He is currently the National Director of Information, Corporate Affairs, Media and Publicity of the Nigerian Legion Corps of Commissionaires, Abuja, Nigeria. He is also Editor-in-Chief of Every Corner International Magazine. REX CHINEDU AGOAWUIKE Media and Publicity Coordinator Rex is an award Winning Broadcast Journalist, Social Media Influencer, Actor, Voice Over Artiste and Social Activist. He is a diligent broadcast Journalist with 8 years of active experience. He has a track record of hosting successful live interviews, Talk shows and Corporate Events. As an experienced Broadcaster, Rex has appeared as a guest in numerous symposiums as a Public speaker presenting topical issues relating to community development, youth and women's empowerment, governance and drug abuse. GEOFFREY TERDOO JABI IT Coordinator Geoffrey Terdoo Jabi is a graphic designer with outstanding creative talent and long standing experience of ICT. His contribution to the promotion of the Game On Afrika Tournament 2024 includes the design of the logo and other images on the website as well as many other forms of promotional literature for the tournament. He hails from Benue State. PRINCE DARKO Member of the Ghana Planning Team Prince Darko, a native of Worawora in the Oti Region of Ghana. He is an educator and a dedicated scout, both regionally and nationally. He is actively engaged in raising awareness of the Game On Afrika project among the youth, His dynamic efforts also extend to gathering valuable data and conducting research to support the advancement of the project within the region and across the country.
