Lagos To Inject Over N5B Into Next Phase Of NYSC Permanent Camp Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos has disclosed that the State is set to inject additional funds to the tune of five billion naira (N5B) into the next phase of the State's Ten Thousand Capacity NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp facility, currently under construction. He made this disclosure when he received the Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, in his office. Sanwo-Olu, who commended the contributions of Corps Members to the development of the State, said the NYSC programme is a National pride. He held that participants in the programme should wear the experience with dignity and honour. The Governor further said that as a Government, Lagos State is responsible and responsive to the needs of Scheme. He promised to look into the requests made by the Director General for an ambulance and other equipment needed to enhance the operations of the NYSC in Lagos State. Again, Governor Sanwo-Olu informed the NYSC Director General that the minimum wage for Corps Members deployed to serve directly in all organs of the State Government had been reviewed upward in tandem with prevailing economic realities. Sanwo-Olu, who said that the statistics of the impact of Corps Members on the socio-economic growth of Lagos, reeled out by the Director General were gratifying and an affirmation of the State as the centre of excellence, with over 44,000 serving Corps Members. He said Lagos would continue to support the NYSC and provide an enabling environment in which members of the Corps will continue to feel wanted, loved, and generally have a memorable service year. The construction of the camp, which is located in Agbowa Ikorodu, commenced in January 2025.
