Mohammed Abacha is the son of the former Nigerian military head of state, General Sani Abacha. Major Hamza al-Mustapha served as the Chief Security Officer for General Sani Abacha. The two were charged in connection with the murd£r of Kudirat Abiola, wife of politician Moshood Abiola, who was assassinated in 1996. Mohammed Abacha and Major Hamza al-Mustapha were arrested in October 1999 following testimony from witnesses.
