NOA DG Links Nigeria’s Development to Embracing the National Value Charter The Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, has identified patriotism and the commitment to national unity, values and civic responsibility as critical ingredients for building a great nation. He made this observation when he received the leadership of the Nigerianization Network on a courtesy visit to the NOA a few days ago. The DG noted that these values were enshrined in the Nigeria Value Charter which also promotes such Nigerian attributes as discipline, resilience, respect and tolerance, among others. The DG added that embracing these values will help build a new Nigeria – stable and prosperous – where every Nigerian is happy, has a sense of belonging and is proud to be Nigerian. He commended the visiting organisation for its programmes and activities promoting the Nigerian identity and civic responsibility, noting that these activities reflect the very purpose for which the NOA was established. “What the Nigerianization Network is doing is the major reason NOA was set up years ago,” he said. The NOA boss assured the organisation of the Agency’s willingness to collaborate with like-minded Nigerians and organisations, while expressing his anticipation of the group’s forthcoming flagship national event scheduled for April, 2026. In his remarks, the National Coordinator of the Nigerianization Network, Dr. Otus Dondaniels, commended the Director-General for the giant strides taken by the NOA under his watch in promoting Nigerian identity, stating that the mandate of the Nigerianization Network aligns closely with that of the NOA, and adding that the organisation’s guiding message is: “Nigeria will rise when Nigerians discover who we are.” He informed the Director-General NOA that the Network believes that over 70 per cent of Nigerians must be mobilised to take ownership of the nation’s future. Dr. Otus called on the NOA to formally partner with the Nigerianization Network and requested the agency to adopt and support the Network’s National Identity Symposium, while also seeking technical guidance and institutional backing. The visit ended with the presentation of an award to the DG NOA by the Coordinator of the Nigerianization Network on behalf of his organisation, in recognition of the DG’s distinguished leadership in championing national values reawakening, civic responsibility and strengthening Nigeria identity.
