Yesterday in Lagos, I moved across the city in full stride. I began at the Nigeria Bar Association Ikeja branch (Tiger Branch) International Human Rights Day event, where I joined a panel discussion on the rights to safety and security, and to address mass killings in Nigeria. It was a vibrant and engaging session featuring Commodore Kunle Olawunmi (rtd), Kuti Ezebiro, PhD, who gave a fantastically punchy delivery, and Justice Fadipe, who moderated with candor. Special thanks to Barrister Joseph Opute for ensuring my attendance, despite my being declared wanted by the CP of the Nigeria Police Force @policeng, Lagos. The event took place successfully a few meters from the Lagos Police State Command headquarters. From there, we headed to the University of Lagos @UnilagNigeria for the Gani Fawehinmi Integrity Award, organized by The Human and Environmental Development Agenda (@HEDAgenda ) Resource Centre, established by my Comrade Olanrewaju Suraju in 2001. The event was led by Arigbabu Sulaimon Olawale "Bruno". The event also featured vibrant ex-SUG leaders Adeola Soetan, Barrister Nurudeen Ogbara, and Sina Odugbemi, and an inspiring turnout of UNILAG students who gave a warm, energizing reception even though we arrived at the tail end of the event.
