FAMILIARIZATION TOUR - Commandant, Warrant Officers' Academy Visits Infantry Corps Centre, Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Defence Simulation Centre, and Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional collaboration, sustain effective working relationships, and familiarize himself with key units and formations within Jaji Military Cantonment, the Commandant, Warrant Officers' Academy (WOA), Brigadier General A Wende, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander Infantry Corps, Major General GM Mutkut, on 29 January 2026 at the Infantry Corps Centre, Jaji Military Cantonment. During the visit, Brigadier General Wende expressed appreciation for the warm reception extended to him and his team. He described the engagement as a form of homecoming, having previously served at the Infantry Corps Centre before proceeding to other assignments. He emphasized the importance of continued mutual support to enhance training effectiveness at the Academy and pledged reciprocal assistance to the Infantry Corps Centre whenever the need arises. The Commandant further reaffirmed his commitment to building and sustaining synergy and collaboration between the Infantry Corps Centre and the Warrant Officers' Academy. He underscored that the training and professional development of Senior Non-Commissioned Officers in the Nigerian Army remain a collective responsibility across all relevant institutions. In response, Major General GM Mutkut warmly welcomed Brigadier General Wende and his entourage. He congratulated the Commandant on his well-deserved appointment and expressed full confidence in his leadership and capability to effectively steer the Warrant Officers' Academy, particularly in the critical area of training. The Commander Infantry Corps highlighted the pivotal role of the Academy in bridging the leadership and professional gap between the Officers' and Soldiers' cadres, affirming that the Infantry Corps Centre would continue to provide steadfast support to the institution. Major General Mutkut also assured the Commandant of ongoing support in infrastructural development, especially in the area of Officers and Soldiers accommodation. He noted that efforts are actively underway to complete buildings currently under construction, aimed at alleviating accommodation challenges across Jaji Military Cantonment. The high points of the visit included the signing of the Visitors' Register, the presentation of souvenirs, and a group photograph. Thereafter, the Commandant and his team proceeded on familiarization visits to other key institutions within Jaji Military Cantonment, namely: Armed Forces Command and Staff College. These engagements are expected to further enhance inter-institutional cooperation and mutual understanding among training establishments in the Cantonment.
