PRESS RELEASE BORNO POLICE COMMAND ARREST 65 SUSPECTS, RECOVER DANGEROUS WEAPONS AND ILLICIT DRUGS In furtherance of its commitment to the maintenance of law and order, the Borno State Police Command, under the proactive leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Abdulmajid psc, has recorded another operational success following coordinated raid operations across parts of the State. The operations, which were carried out by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on 5th and 8th January, 2026, were intelligence-led and targeted at suspected criminal hideouts. Consequently, sixty-five (65) suspects were arrested during the raids. Exhibits recovered in the course of the operations include the following: 1.Five (5) cutlasses 2.Nine (9) knives 3.Forty-nine (49) wraps of Indian hemp 4.Five (5) wraps and six (6) bottles of substances popularly known as “suck and die” 5.Fourteen (14) wraps of ermo 6.Half (½) bottle of piscuf 7.Twenty-five (25) tablets of Tramadol 8.Seventy-seven (77) tablets of Exol 9.Eighty-two (82) tablets of D5 10.Six (6) ice blocks 11.Two (2) diamond solutions 12.Three (3) customised antelope horns 13.One (1) shisha pot The suspects are currently undergoing thorough investigation, after which they will be charged to court accordingly. The Commissioner of Police reassures the good people of Borno State of the Command’s unwavering resolve to combat crime and criminality in all its forms and calls on members of the public to continue to cooperate with the Police by providing timely and useful information that will enhance public safety and security.
