Nigeria and Mozambique Strengthen Cooperation Against Financial Crime Nigeria and Mozambique have reinforced collaboration in combating financial crime with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Financial Intelligence Unit of Nigeria (FIU Nigeria) and the Financial Intelligence Unit of Mozambique. The MoU was signed on the margins of the EGFIU Meetings in Arusha, Tanzania, by the Heads of both FIUs, Hafsat Abubakar Bakari of Nigeria and Aurelio Matavele of Mozambique. The partnership focuses on training, capacity building, information exchange, and operational collaboration to tackle illicit financial flows and related crimes. The agreement is particularly significant as both countries were recently removed from the FATF Grey List, a designation for countries with weaknesses in anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing measures, underlining their commitment to sustained reforms and strengthened international cooperation. 🇳🇬🇲🇿
