Trump says Iran wants a deal. Iran says the deal is: pay for everything you destroyed and leave the Persian Gulf. Forever.

Mohsen Rezaee, a senior Iranian official and former IRGC commander, said in a televised statement that the war will only end on Iran's terms. He laid out two conditions: full compensation from the United States for all damages, and a complete withdrawal of U.S. forces from the Persian Gulf. Rezaee sits on Iran's Expediency Discernment Council, the advisory body to the supreme leader. He said the U.S. presence has been "the main cause of insecurity over the past 50 years" and that a security guarantee is impossible while American forces remain. President Masoud Pezeshkian echoed the demands, calling for "recognition of Iran's legitimate rights, payment of reparations, and firm guarantees against future aggression." The demands stand in direct contrast to the Trump administration's goal of regime change. Neither side has shown signs of backing down. This is a developing story. Details may change as new information becomes available.
