ACTING CORPS COMMANDER EDUCATION MEETS FIELD COMMANDERS, COMMISSIONS CLASSROOM BLOCK IN SULEJA
The Acting Corps Commander Education, Brigadier General Yushau Dogara Ahmed, held his maiden meeting with field commanders of the Nigerian Army Education Corps (NAEC) at Command Secondary School Suleja, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen military education and training across the Nigerian Army.
The meeting brought together Commandants of the Nigerian Army Institute of Science Education and Technology (NAISET) and the Nigerian Army Language Institute (NALI), alongside Directors, Provost, Rector and Commandants of Command Secondary Schools. The engagement focused on reviewing existing strategies and adopting innovative approaches to enhance the Corps’ contributions amid evolving security and educational demands.
In his address, Brigadier General Ahmed described the gathering as a strategic platform to address the growing complexity of military education. He emphasized the need to align training with the Chief of Army Staff’s command philosophy, to “Advance the transformation of the Nigerian Army into a more professional, adaptable, combat-ready and resilient force capable of decisively discharging its constitutional responsibilities within a joint and multi-agency environment”.
He charged field commanders to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, stressing that this must be evident in instructional quality, curriculum relevance, staff welfare and student discipline. He also called for the strengthening of modern teaching methods, digital learning platforms and research-driven practices to keep pace with technological and operational advancements. Highlighting the importance of readiness and collaboration, he noted that the effectiveness of NAEC depends on strong coordination among its institutions.
As part of the engagement, Brigadier General Ahmed further commissioned a newly renovated block of classrooms at Command Secondary School Suleja, completed under the leadership of the Commandant, Lieutenant Colonel JM Sani. He encouraged similar initiatives across NAEC institutions to improve learning environments.
Brigadier General Ahmed urged participants to translate discussions into actionable outcomes, emphasizing the critical role of military education in providing the intellectual and moral foundation for a professional and effective Nigerian Army.
