She was flat on her back under a 2-ton Mercedes with her ankle trapped under the rear tire. This was Delancey and Norfolk Streets, Manhattan, on a Sunday afternoon. A 65-year-old driver had failed to yield and the SUV had rolled right over her. Within seconds, more than 10 strangers sprinted across the intersection, grabbed the car, and tilted it onto two wheels. She crawled out. No broken bones. New Yorkers, apparently.
