On May 8, troops of 17 Brigade and the Katsina State Community Watch Corps advanced on the hideout of notorious terrorist kingpin Muhammadu Filani whose terror network has held Musawa, Matazu, and Kankia LGAs hostage. The target: Dikawa village outskirts, Matazu LGA. As troops moved in, t€rr0r!sts opened fire from behind rocky terrain. The response was swift and lethal. 💀 CASUALTIES & RECOVERIES: ✅ 2 terrorists neutralised ✅ 32 kidnapped victims rescued ✅ Large cache of weapons seized ✅ 10 motorcycles recovered This is the second phase of a sustained clearance operation. The first phase softened them. This phase is dismantling them. No soldier casualties reported. The rescued victims many of whom had spent weeks in captivity are now receiving medical attention and will be reunited with their families. The message: You can hide in the rocks.
