Ghanaian President John Mahama says the country has lost US$78 million (€67 million) after the United States closed USAID aid programs. Speaking at the World Health Assembly in Geneva, Mahama said the money was used to support malaria treatment, mothers and children, nutrition, HIV testing, and HIV medicines. Mahama also said many countries are receiving less foreign health support since the COVID-19 pandemic, and urged African countries to invest more in their health systems and depend less on foreign aid. #DWAfrica
