1,187 CADETS GRADUATE FROM THE NIGERIA POLICE ACADEMY; COMMISSIONED AS ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENTS OF POLICE The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, today, 29th November 2025, commissioned One Thousand One Hundred and Eighty-Seven (1,187) cadets of Regular Course 7 into the Nigeria Police Force as Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs). The colourful Passing Out Parade (POP) held at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, marked the successful completion of five years of intensive academic and professional training. At the end of this rigorous programme, the cadets have not only been commissioned as officers but have also earned Bachelor’s degrees in various disciplines, making them equipped with both academic qualifications and professional policing skills to serve the nation effectively. Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, CON, the President congratulated the newly commissioned officers and charged them to discharge their duties with utmost integrity, professionalism, and respect for human rights. He reiterated the Federal Government’s unwavering commitment to police reform, improved welfare for personnel, and enhanced operational capabilities. The well-attended ceremony was graced by distinguished personalities including: Shanta Emily Knowles, Head of the Royal Bahamas Police Force; Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf; Representatives of the Chief of Defence Staff and Service Chiefs; members of the National Assembly; top government functionaries, heads of sister security agencies; senior serving and retired police officers; Provost and academic faculty of the Nigeria Police Academy; traditional and religious leaders; parents, and well-wishers.
