BREAKING: Oil Is No Longer Enough” — FG Unveils Bold Export-Led Plan to Rebuild Nigeria’s Economy ❤️🇳🇬 The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to repositioning Nigeria’s economy through a structured export-led growth strategy aimed at long-term sustainability and shared prosperity. Speaking at the Distinguished Personality Lecture of the Faculty of Administration, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), Dr. Zacch A. Adedeji, PhD, said Nigeria’s economic future depends on deliberate industrialisation, higher productivity, and increased economic complexity rather than continued reliance on crude oil exports. Adedeji noted that Nigeria’s current export structure remains largely undiversified and vulnerable to external shocks, stressing that global competitiveness is now driven by knowledge, skills, and value-added production. He highlighted the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) as a critical platform for strengthening regional value chains and expanding Nigeria’s manufacturing and industrial footprint across Africa. According to him, ongoing fiscal, trade, and institutional reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda are designed to create an enabling environment for export competitiveness, private sector growth, and job creation. Adedeji added that sustained implementation of these reforms would position Nigeria to move up the global value chain and achieve inclusive economic growth for future generations.
