When we began work on the Lagos International Financial Centre two years ago, it was a bold vision. Today, I joined leaders from EnterpriseNGR and members of the Lagos International Financial Centre Council at Lagos House, Marina, to launch the Phase 1 Report. The report sets out how we plan to build a financial centre that supports growth, strengthens our markets, and encourages innovation across Nigeria. It reflects steady policy work, technical input, and strong partnerships built over time. I want to acknowledge EnterpriseNGR, the UK Government, and TheCityUK for their support and expertise at this early stage. Building a credible financial centre requires discipline, strong institutions, and trusted partners. The next phase focuses on execution and reforms that endure. We have designed this project to be institutional rather than personal, so it can outlast any administration. This effort goes beyond Lagos. It is about shaping a financial system that works better for Nigeria, today and for the future.
