Looking back at The Athletic's picks for the Best Player at the World Cup one week after it's conclusion and they actually sorta cooked with that Top 8 😮‍💨👏 Back in December 2025, the platform tasked two writers with ranking over 1,200 players into a Top 100 based on how they think they’ll perform and this is what they came up with 🤔🧠 They did, however, assume the likes of Italy and Poland would make it into the competition... and we all know how that went 👀
