A 38-year-old man in Kamunting, Taiping, Malaysia was arrested by police yesterday, April 28, for uploading a provocative Facebook posting that insulted Islam.
Perak police said the suspect, who hails from Kampung Stesen, Kuala Kangsar allegedly committed the offence on September 7, 2015. The suspect used a pseudonym when uploading the statements in social media, possibly aimed at sparking racial tension.

Rahim said Bukit Aman's Classified Crimes Unit nabbed the suspect at his home at 10am yesterday.
"Police have also confiscated three handphones and a pouch bag from him," he said in a statement issued here today.
Rahim said the suspect would be investigated under the Sedition Act 1948 and Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
